Texturadesign's still_motion explores the movements and pauses we experience as we go into the world each day.
Description in english:
Rise, dress, fumble for keys, find a spare subway token, climb on the train, stare out the window, sip coffee, think about a program from the night before. The day becomes a sequence of events layered atop one another, repeated over and over to create life's rhythm. As we make our way in our world, our movements become tuned, rehearsed, automatic, and perfectly repeatable. Then the rhythm stutters. A face, a mural, a bright red ballcap, a slogan on the subway wall catches our eye and we stop to notice. The loop pauses while we consider this moment away from our routine. Then the music begins again and our day continues.
Biography:
Texturadesign, founded in 1997, is a group of artists exploring art and technology. Their collaborations combine written pieces, stills, digital video, and audio, and challenge web users to expand their relationship to and experience of art. Texturadesign publishes .com, .net, and .org sites.
